One of the biggest problems with the Advent 300 are the electrolytic caps. Most were of mediocre quality and often there were 16v rated parts on 15v unregulated voltage rails. I remember spending hours dealing with a week channel only to eventually discover that it was one of the lytic caps in a feedback loop.I'd strongly suggest that you replace every electrolytic cap in a "shotgun" fashion. It really doesn't take that long and will pay off. Otherwise you'll just be chasing another problem in a few months.

I'm primarily a tube sort of person, but the Advent 300 is one of the few solid state unit's I've held onto. Nice styling and rather good sound. Enjoy!
