In my experience, any battery will sound better when bypassed with high quality film caps.
You will hear tighter & punchier bass, less RF, blacker silences and improved dynamic range. The bypass cap should be placed very close to the active devices.
Since the battery is already a very large "capacitor", there is no point in adding eletrolytic capacitors to your almost perfect DC source. The major reasons most people convert to batteries are: to avoid 60 Hz grunge/harmonics and get rid of the typical electrolytics "bleached" sound.
'lytics have the worse specs and performance of all capacitor types (with tantalum caps a close second).
Interesting note: battery power supplies require much smaller caps than regular AC-DC supplies.
I use 3-10 uF film/foil caps on tube line stage circuits and 47-100 uF metalized film caps for low-current solid state circuits.

good luck
Carlos
