Hello
To make sure that the transformer does not affect the sound quality, buy one rated for at least 5 times the Krell's current draw (250 W or more) and place it well away from any component.
Otherwise, I see no reason why a competently designed SACD player would sound bad when connected to a good, over-specified transformer.
I recommend Signal Transformers, though I am not sure whether or not they have a 240V model. One very nice alternative is to make John Risch's balanced AC conditioner DIY project. I believe he can help you find the right transformers for a 240 to 120 V balanced AC conditioner.
I suggest that you do a search for "balanced AC".
This tweak will convert the voltage AND bring substantial gains in silence, black backgrounds and soundstaging, compared to a direct AC connection.
good luck
carlos
