This is quite normal

Schottkys do provide a higher raw DC supply.
Most current CD players have 100% regulated power supplies, therefore the 5 V supply for digital and the positive/negative PS for the output section (maybe +-12V) will remain unchanged.
The drawback is that the regulators must dissipate the extra voltage as heat.
I suggest that you measure the DC voltages at the chips, if everything is within spec and no regulator is too hot to touch, leave the schottkys in place.
They do improve a slight midrange and treble hash that is present on most CD players.
