Re: CD player output voltage

Tim, the rule of thumb is to overspecify capacitor voltage by at least 20% (more on tube circuits power supplies).
BTW, the higher the voltage of a coupling cap the better it sounds, all other things being equal.
I suggest that you keep the 100 uF value if your preamp has low input impedance (5 k ohms to 10 Kohms).
If you have a high input impedance preamp(> 50 K), a 10 uF cap will suffice and will sound much better than a large cap.
Some brave tweakers bypass the cap with a piece of wire. Just remember to turn on the CDP first and turn it off last, to avoid "thumps" on the speakers.
BTW another amazing tweak is to leave your CDP on 24/7. It will sound much smoother after a few days of warmup. It will also last longer, if you do not leave it in Pause mode (motor turning).
