I believe that you have GE caps. They are excellent for tube amplifier/preamplifier power supplies, but tend to sound muffled as coupling caps. T
hey simply were not designed for the application.
GE makes (oe used to make) a high-frequency oil cap, but I have not been able to find them.
The most widely used caps for tweeters are Auricap & Hovland, if you want lots of treble detail; Jensen paper/copper foil if you want smooth, extended treble with more body than air.
Other than those brands, it's a lottery, IMO.
