......and there is nickel plating. As you may know, there are various grades. Hubbell uses what is termed "bright nickel" plating, which to my knowledge, is the best quality and has the greatest durability. It is quite similar to a chrome finish. This information, and more, was conveyed to me by senior Hubbell representatives when I was first doing R & D with them for my product line.The Hubbell bright-nickel plating (on the heavy-duty, spec-grade receptacles, or HBL models), especially after proper cryogenic treatment, is definitely *not* bright-sounding nor "blurry". In fact, customer after customer (including some reviewers) have told me they found the Hubbell HBL8300 to have "greater clarity" than other popular brands on the market.
