Dave Slagle autoformers

Hello dvb
My comments were based on Dave's specs for his autoformers.
S&B and Sowther may have different requirements. I suggest that you ask the manufacturers.
However, if your power amp has a high input impedance (> 50k), I see no problem in using an autoformer, because an autoformer has no fixed impedance, it just reflects the impedance of the load into the source.
The turns ratio varies with the volume switch setting (the tap from the autoformer that is connected to the TVC output)
I hope this helps
Carlos
