The freezing is legit, there are images to be found of before/after metal crystal structure, and it is significantly tighter. Also, cryogenic tempering is sometimes used to extend the life of mechanical parts. The idea that a standard freezer will do very much of anything is ridiculous. People are thinking of cold in relation to room temparature, they need to think of cold in terms of absolute zero.I threw my old tv in the oven, broke it, then bought a new one and put ice on it and it works great :)
