The idea is that if you cool equipment down to extremely low temparature, as in cryogenic treatment (not home freezers really) that the equipment realigns its structure on an atomic level to where there is less inner tension, supposedly modifying the crystal structure into a more tighly packed lower tension state. This should improve every large piece of metal, but I've not yet tried it on a component, due to fear of a cap or something popping in the process.
Anybody try cryo treatment of whole components here?
