This is a good point. A load may slow down the turntable. The drag may depend on the loudness of the music being played and the velocity (radius) being played.
I would also be skeptical of any Ap that measured RPM, as it may have its own calibration problems. About the only thing that I would trust would be a stopwatch and eyeballs/fingers.
The error is slight. It creates a pitch difference that's about half what I can hear. I would not worry about it. In many cases there are remasters on CD and LP of the same recording that have much bigger timing/pitch differences, so comparing a CD vs. and LP is also not to be trusted.
