Ground tweak IV

More observations about the battery ground tweak. Again naysayers need not read further.

1.Soldering the 9 Volt negative lead to interconnects makes for similar and noticeable differences in sound: better dynamics, increased detail.

On a headphone jack, performance of headphones increases quite dramatically, even when using a simple ipod as a source.

2. Higher voltage=brighter sound, increased brightness on TV sets.
While I use a 9 volt battery as a standard, experimentation with AA holders in 2 and four battery configurations definitely reveal a warmer tonal balance as the voltage is dropped, even though theoretically, this is not supposed to make a difference. Running three D cells in parallel worked out very nicely on a DVD/CD player. If running a single 9 volt is tonally too bright, by all means experiment with lower voltages. AA, AAA, C, and D cells are all 1.5 volt with different current capabilities. Running them in aftermarket holders gives you the liberty of experimenting with voltages.

On TV sets, running two or three batteries in parallel seems to be significantly more visible than running just one.
