Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I think a great deal of understanding can be gleaned just by observing how different styles of construction and different materials react to burning or freezing. I'm not interested in poo-pooing, merely in understanding. And even then not really for any good reason, mostly just bald-faced curiosity.
I'm curious about your experience with speaker and interconnect cables. Which tends to respond better to burning and do both benefit equally from doing it over occasionally?
What sort of interactions have you found between cryogenic treatment and burning?
I'm sure that's enough for now. Certainly one of the drawbacks of the internet is that I can't ply you with drinks to help pick your brains so I'd better not push my luck.
