My preamp, CD player and amp were always drawing power when not in use but not enough to bring the no-load voltage of the Plitron tranny down to mains value. I also tried a custom wound tranny from Toroid Corp. of Maryland but it turned out to be very sensitive to DC on the mains. I now use an Equi=Tech Q type tranny which is very immune to DC and brought the greatest improvement to my system, particularly in the area of low frequency performance. My CD player is fed by a separate, small custom wound tranny from Toroid Corp - no problems there.
