Al, you are absolutely right. I had an Audio Logic 34MXL DAC modified
and the modifier placed 13 pieces of ferrite in various locations including the traces on the PCB and large clamp barrels on the wiring from the input jacks, etc. The sound was as bad as I have ever heard.
The entire system sounded like it was underwater. I sent it back to have ALL the derrite removed and lo and behold I had some very nice music again.
