I also wonder about the same mentality when it comes the use of nickel-plated IEC power inlets and other connectors in high end equipment. I've upgraded all of the stock IEC inlets in my components. I also swapped the stock brass output terminals of my Classé amp with WBT Toplines. The terminals had huge steel nuts and washers in the signal path. What was Classé thinking ?
