Hi
If you source's output impedance is lower than 500 ohms (most CD players except Rega and tubed ones have low output impedance), you will actually improve your amp's sound quality by substituting a 10K pot, it sounds more transparent and more dynamic than 20K.
Make sure you buy an AUDIO taper pot, not a linear pot.
