Re: Volume pot question

Most pots have three solderable tabs on top (mono) or six (stereo).
If it has 8 tabs, the fourth tab on each pot is the Loudness tap.
To test resistance, connect the DMM probes to the end tabs (power OFF).
The most common values in tube gear are 100K and 250 K ohms. Wattage is not important. Make sure you buy the right size axle, the standard in the USA is 1/4", 6 mm in Europe.
www.tubesandmore.com may have the exact replacement pot.
Or you could upgrade to an Alps or Noble pot, not too expensive, excellent sound. Noble makes pots with Loudness taps.
Make sure you ask for an Audio Taper volume pot (log). A Balance pot will not do, neither a linear pot.
Good luck
Carlos
