Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

Re: leaving tubes on constan6tly is a 'good' idea

Right on "Timbo in oz" as thats the technically correct assesment, as it stands whenever I power up the tuner fully from remote control I always hear a slight double clicking noise and Im quite sure its the tubes powering up from standby status or as you stated the" B plus and bias" as what I must be observing are the heaters correct me if Im wrong. I also have a Kora Hermes DAC and the tubes in this unit seem to be going strong as well. Currently Im using a pearl cryogenic 1974 Mullard /2492/E88CC along with Mullard 1964 nos ECC88 but the cryos are performing wonderfully with all the strengths of the 64 mullards but better control on top in terms of shimmer, decay time as well as slightly more extension--midrange may be a little more liquid and slightly more presence factor in vocal reproduction. Kinda wondering if tube rolling would have the same positive attributes in my Magnum Dynalab tuner and this Kora Hermes is also designed to keep tubes on as well, the accomanying manuel actually states a minimum tube life of 10,000 hrs as the circuit is optimised for this--really a great piece in my setup.
