I've been sending off NOS tubes for years to have them cryo'd - no problem! I've even tossed 'em in the freezer when I didn't feel like waiting as it's usually a week turnaround from the crypo lab. If one cranks down the thermostat all the way on the freezer, the temp is what: 15-20 F? Hard to believe that a temp difference of only 50 degrees F (from room temp) produces an improvement. Altho cryogenic temperature is -300 F, results can easily be produced by "cold tempering" using much higher temps.
