I'm thinking about replacing the input jacks and output terminals of my ST70 with the Van Alstine set. Supposedly the input Jacks are spaced further apart to allow for modern RCA plugs, without cutting or drilling the ST70 chassis. I'm having trouble imagining moving the jacks apart without having to nibble the chassis opening a little wider. Has anyone here used this I/O replacement set, and is it as advertised? I've already tried the narrow Neutrik plugs with the stock jacks and even they interfere (physically) with each other slightly. Don't know if there's any real sonic liability to the metal shells (and thus grounds) touching each other, but I guess I would feel better if they didn't. Any opinions? TIA.
