Sidegetter, according to the service manual the amp uses 300 watts at idle and 600 watts full output. The main fuse is 8 amp. I picked up a 539B hickock a few years ago and all of the 8005s I have read above spec even though they have many hours on them.
Two amps will be like having a 600 to 1200 watt heater running all the time. Cozy!
