You can either use a 240/120v stepdown transformer
(not hard to find in most places, and yes, a cheaper
"autoformer" is fine since the power transformer
itself provides isolation), or if your correspondent
is going to Europe, Sowter make a 240V/50HZ power xfmr
for ST70's, see http://www.sowter.co.uk
