JG is nothing more than the code the Mil used for GE. JAN is Joint Army Navy designation, which included all the manus who bid on and ultimately produced a batch of tubes under military contract.
5-Star were GE's equiv of RCA's Command Series....many used in commercial radio stations. Low noise, very close operating parameters between triodes (in dual-triodes, etc.
