RE: 6H30 w/Cryogenic - Any Benefit

Jerry
If you listen to Kevin Deal from Upscale audio,he doesn't really say one way or the other whether cryo treating is better or not.He just says that some of his customers ask for it.
I use cryogenic parts but only when I build transmissions for racing applications. When you come down next week or whenever,I will show you the six speed manual I'm building for a guy that is going in a 2011 Mustang GT that he will run semi pro-stock with..I don't get six speed manual running running circle track but to each his own..Anyway,these are all helical cut gears and they are under major stress so cryo treating does harden the steel in the gears..
With tubes, the metals are soft to begin with and the metals are not used with mechanical motion so it escapes many as to why it would have any affect at all.You don't really need hard metals to make electrons move.
Bottom line,if you want to spring the extra few bucks go ahead but I have my doubts it's a miracle transformation.I personally wouldn't do it for tubes. For engines and transmissions,I would. If you ever heard of engine builders seasoning an engine block by throwing it out in the snow over winter, that's actually somewhat of a cryogenic treatment and that's why they do it.
