Any of these audio cryogenic facilities is very familiar with good temperature profiles. I was kind of expecting to get lots of replies from people who had done tubes. Well, I guess they'll come out of the woodwork at some point. When I posted about this a couple years ago, a lot of people discussed how often a tube fails (pins become separated or something).. it's rare. Just as tubes need to stay intact when they get hot, they do so when they get cold.. because the temperature coefficient of the pins matches the glass.
