Your amp doesn't see transconductance...it see's/feels current, that's why Jim sorts them that way. And yes, it is very important!
Now, you mentioned your amp has individual bias pots...which is good...and makes things much easier for you.
Still, it's better to have tubes that are close to same current draw as possible.
