RE: Apparently there's a market for dead tubes now, too?

Yes, sometimes there are guys who want 100% dead tubes for their collections or whatever. A few years back I sold a batch of red-base RCA 5691's that were flat out kaput. I let it be known in the ad they were 100% crapped out...but some guy still wanted them...probably because they look so nice!
The tubes in the ad test "low" but obviously aren't dead yet.
And sometimes there are tubes that test out below the accepted "minimum" of 65% or so, but still sound really good...so why not use them!
I guess it all depends on how one describes the condition.
