Different tester circuits. You'll never get the same result no matter if the manu is the same or different. No matter if the tester is the same type and consecutive serial numbers! Large variation in component parts going into the testers. Don't forget the +/- values manu's indicated on build schematics. There was a reason for that.
I had a long e-mail conversation with Chris Heidt right before he passed about this very thing and it centered around me getting the same value reading on a 5881 from both a cal'd TV7-D/U and a 539C. He said it was happy coincidence - and it was. We verified by me shipping some different tubes to him and comparing readings on various testers. It was a great test and eye-opener as to relevency(sp?) of readings. I think I have a hard copy of those e-mails. Tester readings are vague at best, even when they are cal'd correctly, but do serve a purpose in relaying relative "goodness". Your amp is gonna tell the tubes how to act anyway -not any tester.
