RE: CJ MV 75-A1 & CJ PV10-B

jette, hi. Any updates/changes to MV 75-A1 by Mr Thalmann would not be reflected in a new letter/number designation I would think. You might contact him via e-mail and also visit his site for more info. cj always had some items that were very tube specific. The PV-12 comes to mind. Then again, the Premier 14 seems quite happy with whatever 6GK5 I try. Have you visited cj's site for info? I would go for Fairchild 'Stealth' series diodes. Re small signal tubes, I would try to use old stock or new old stock if possible. I would also do searches here on AA for posts on both pieces. There are some very experienced cj people here. Uncle Stu immediately comes to mind. System Audio. Denmark. Website? I'll search. Sorry I can't be of more help giving new small signal tube advice. I started collecting in the late 70's and draw from these stocks. I have been working with JJ ECC99 with good results. Though patterned after the 5687 it has a 9A miniature base. I have also liked the =C= Svetlana Electron Devices (SED)6550. The new manufacture stuff from New Sensor has consistently received praise but have not tried as of yet. Coupling caps - everybody has strong opinions. I like and use TFT and RTX by Reliable Capacitor and Jensen copper foil and oil. Have not tried the Jantzen offerings though they look good.
