Too bad you are a beginner or I would recommend that you get a chassis and transformer sets and get the K&K ST70 board. I have many vintage amps (Mac, Eico, Fisher) and this modded ST70 beat them all. The sound is warm with excellent details. My friend has the VTA board which is what Bob Latino uses and I think the K&K's sound is much smoother without losing details. A very refined sound.
