RE: cool, cheap tubes that ROCK!!!!!!

Mr. Attn,
Maybe the 6384 sounds harsh because it wasn't exactly designed as a musical reproduction/production tube. Beam power amplifier yes, audio nicety no. "...designed as a direct retrofit for the 6AR6 or 6098 in aircraft, military and industrial applications where freedom from early failures, long average service life and uniform operating characteristics are extremely important."
As I noted below, specs show a Max dc screen voltage of 325 volts. I assume in your workings with all 3 of these variants, that you went to 400+ on the screens. It worked out OK? No problems? I haven't seen any posts with anyone giving abundant details on using these 3 types - so thanks for the scoop. Did you find the 6AR6 rounded plate shape better than let's say the JAN Raytheon square plate configuaration?
If you ever get the time to write out your observations on your work with these 3, and post here that would be great! I've saved up about 50+ mostly NOS of the 6384/6AR6/6098 but haven't built anything using them from lack of info and design availability.
Thanks for your post.
