RE: JJ ECC99 gold pin version

Lew, hi. Antique Electronic Supply's parent (CE Distrib) would be the primary JJ source in CONUS so I would contact Antique. You might go to the JJ Electronics web site and see if they are publishing any data on the gold pin version versus standard. You might call AES and chat with someone in sales. Often they know the skinny. As I put on my marketing hat on my first thought is the gold pin version is designed to enhance profitability. Be on guard against the placebo effect if you buy 'em to try 'em. Seems like there are all kinds of things that sell better when they glitter. I too have been trying ECC99 with happy results. Ask Antique if they can give you a fleet rate. I've been thinking about stocking up too. Isn't it nice there is a contemporary 5687 inspired tube that can actually sound good? Happy Listening.
