fast, hi. Try JJ 300B. I have had zero problems in several amps over many years service. I find them more stable than Cetron and better sounding. If you ever have a power tube that does squirrely things (popping, flashing) it is a sign of a bigger events just waiting to happen. In the 80's I called the Sino power tubes 'firecrackers' for good reason. Installing them in anything was inviting pyrotechnics. Internal arcing and ionization glow is only the light show. It is indicative of worse things like damaged output transformers. Do your amps have solid state rectifiers? Unless some soft start provision is present high voltage comes on instantly - 'bang on' as it were.
