rverdun81, hi again. Sorry I could not get back to you sooner than this. Luxman in using 10 Ohm cathode R allows you to measure voltage drop across it and thus have current expressed in mA. I think you may be confusing mA with mV. Across the 10 Ohm R 0.40 V measured can also be expressed as 40 mA. This is just a convenient way to measure current across the tube. Also, I think if you have patience enough to explore Japanese sites (JP) you might be able to tease out a schematic. Your 38 Sig is a reissue of a classic Lux PP design. It will have similar features to earlier Luxman amps. I think it is one 12AU7, one 12BH7, and a pair of EL34. Very straight forward. Also, since the SQ-38 is a kind of statement amp from the reconstituted Luxman Corp there should be lots of references in such JP audio fanzines as Stereo Sound etc. You might drop a line to Luxman too. Maybe somebody on the inside will help. Did Lux actually make export SQ-38 for 120 V U.S. mains?
