RE: Bendix 6106 Question

PIV is not an issue as long as it is greater (which it is in the 6106). PIV is not the voltage drop, but rather the peak inverse voltage.

I'm not certain, but I recall the voltage drop with a TE-22/6106 will be somewhat less than with a "garden variety" 5Y3/G/GT/WGTA version which drops about 50v under full load. The increased B+ may cause problems if the filter caps or regulator circuit are marginal.

I suppose the slow turn on characteristics could cause problems in some regulator circuits as well.
