RE: National Union 813 Power Tubes

Phil, hi. The 813 indeed can be used for an AF amplifier - Class AB1 push-pull if you like. The 813 was a workhorse RF tube as well. National Union hasn't made tubes for decades. NU built righteous tubes although yours could just as easily have been OEM from RCA or Amperex or ...
I believe it was Shoreline out of the Sacramento CA area that made some mono amps that used quantities of these tubes in push-pull parallel to make monstrous power. In a way you can think of the 813 as a scaled up 807 beam power tube. These types are easier to drive than large triodes. Do some more Googling on Type 813. I can't remember if Sakuma has done anything with 813 but have a look at his work anyway. Have fun.
