I have some of those mid-80's Philips ECG 12AT7's and the '76 Sylvania's are very different in structure. I was wondering if anybody had used these late 60's early 70's in their gear and if they liked them or not.
I am running some RCA JAN 12AT7WA blackplates from 1965. They are not the folded plate design that I see in some late manu types. The RCA's sound pretty good in my amp. Luckily for all of us, AT7's are pretty plentiful and not too expensive for good types - that has kept me from securing any of the high-end types.
