RE: Embarassed to say, I've never heard of a blackplate 6922

OK. Here we go: Red printing, USN-6922. 07/280. 62-39. Black plate, steel pin, stirrup getter. Was a Navy contract according to the contract # on the box. That may be why they might not be a mainstream 6922. I remember where I got them now and it coincides with a Naval contract. The boxes are std mil boxes.
If you have CK's in commercial boxes that are the same as one's above, there may have been an over-run or possible contract cancellation where they could then sell to commercial suppliers. Not sure.
Anyway, they sound good in my amp. Give them a try and let us know how they are in yours.
