cjfrbw, hi. 6113 is a special 6SL7. The etched letters tell the story on your tube, a 12AX7A. The "6113" designation is a mystery. The 12AX7A is a sort of higher mu offspring of the 6SL7 in the same way a 6CG7/6FQ7 comes out of 6SN7. The noval button base was considered "new wave" when it appeared and especially in contrast to the "old fashioned" octal based tubes. Progress. Always, progress. And this was before the (Wow!) compactron.
