Iczerman, hi. Actually, the 845 was intended for audio. It was used in top of the Deluxe line motion picture sound theater gear as built by RCA in 1939 and had been used in that capacity for a number of years. The 845 was designed for Class A operation audio frequency service. The 12AY7 is another tube that was created with Class A audio service in mind - specifically low microphics.
