The Systron-Donner (Fairchild) 6200B was really designed for transistor use, so you end up with tube sockets and filament wiring extending away from the tester. The lead wires to the socket have a lot to do with this ringing. Shielding them, ferrite beads, or separation of the wiring will reduce or eliminate it.
One of these day's I'm going to make up some little PCB's that will plug directly into the bananna sockets on the tester - like the older Tek transistor mounts. Wiring up clip leads for dual triodes can be a royal pain.
