Ed -500vdc/50ma should be easy - my B+ is 825vdc, at 120-200ma depending on bias.
I don't think the current is nearly as much as an issue with the voltage. Probably 1/2 of the 866jr's I've tried arc over at 400-600vdc. The older tubes tend to be worse - globes tend to be worthless.
To get to 825v I had to pre-warm the 866jr's for 2-4 minutes depending on ambient temperature, and slow start them with a damper diode "a-la Slagle".
I wonder if they might be "gassy" although I have no idea how to test that in a Hg vapor rectifer.
