Buy lots of fuses....

My experience with MV rectifiers is that you really can't cap load them at all.

IMHO about the only choice is LCLC with a swinging/smoothing chokes (low DCR) and the smallest caps you can get away with. Oils. You'll need to delay the B+ substantially until they are warm, and consider slow-starting them with a damper diode (a nice Slagle trick!).

A separate filament transformer for the MV rectifiers is also a good idea, and careful chassis layout to deal with the RF hash.

At least in my case it translated into a pretty large (and heavy) chassis.

And buy lots of fuses until you get it working perfectly...
