Re: Looking for opinions on 5932's

Hello Robert!
I was hoping someone would write back on this.
I have many variations of this tube.
The NOS Tungsols' have this written on the box:
DSA 900-69-C-7376
A 4/69
JAN 5932
Wagner Electric Corp T.S Div
Similar to CV 3899
Now, The Sylvania solid plates I have are black and ribbed and one vaiartion (Gold Brand) has the same grey plate structure as the 6L6WGB/6L6GC with taller glass envelope.
The guts of the TungSol are nowhere similar to the Sylvanias.
They are the same guts dimensionally and appearance wise as their 5881/6L6WGB's = grey solid plate.
So, what I get from your reply is that TS just repackaged (base, envelope) their proven 5881 to fulfill the contract requirements. Makes sense. I do know that did happen on other tube contracts for DoD. Why retool when something you already have will works?
Ok. Well I'm sure these TS will sound pretty good nonetheless.
Thanks for your input!

Jr
