Re: A 7355 tube can replace a 7591 ?

A 7355 has essentially the same pinout as a 7591, but is more akin to a 6L6 electrically. Although it has been used as a 7591 substitute in the past it requires changing the bias circuitry and really doesn't work all that well. As Jim McShane points out, now that the Russian 7591's are available, they are a much better solution.

There are enough amps around that use 7355's that you could probably resell them and recoup enough to purchase a set of 7591's.
