As Bill points out, the FM3 can be very nice sounding as long as you are in an area with reasonable signal strength and fairly well spaced stations. IMHO it doesn't compare to any of the nicer Fisher or Mcintosh tube tuners, but is much more available and less pricey. When I lived in the Boston 'burbs I enjoyed mine very much (Especially WGBH/WERS!). Now that I'm 60 miles north I've had to move to more sensitive tuners. The FM1 with multiplex (FMX3 adapter) is essentially identical to the FM3 except for the earlier face plate style. Frankly I prefer the early style if it is in nice shape. There was also a very cute version of the FM1 with a small inset amplifier (FMA2) that turned it into a small mono receiver. I have an unbuilt FMA2 kit, but have never had the heart to build it to see what it sounds like. Apparently they had a serious problem with overheating.
Lastly, the PAS2 and PAS3 are identical except for the face plate - again the PAS2 has the earlier bronze style face. A search for comments on the PAS3 should bring more results as they are a bit more common. Dynaco even sold a "faceplate upgrade" kit at one time.
Nice system when rebuilt properly. Schematics for all are on my website below.
