Re: What is the max cathode to heater voltage for a 27 tube?

Hi, John.
From the RCA manual for 227 tubes:
The cathode connection to the heater should be made (1) to the wiper of a potentiometer connected across the heater winding of the power transformer (note: this is for AC operation); (2) to a multi-tapped resistor across the heater winding (note: see your mailbox);(3)to the midpoint of the heater winding itself (note: if you have a center-tapped trafo)
Recommended practice is to have no potential difference between heater and cathode. If this practice is not followed, the heater may be biased preferably negative, but allowably positive, with respect to the cathode by not more than 45 volts.
The "notes" are mine.
Good luck
Carlos
