......while not a scientist in any real sense of the word, I have cryo'd (and double-cryo'd) a large assortment of cables, duplex receptacles, heavy-gauge in-wall wiring, certain passive AC line conditioners, and yes......even tubes (both power and signal) with great success. Mullards, RCA's, GE's, etc. etc. No cracking or breakage whatsoever (this relates directly to who's doing the processing....a *very* slow ramp-down and ramp-up of temperature is essential for avoiding thermal shock to the materials). And sonically? Far greater clarity and sweeter high frequencies......each and every time.And for the other gentleman posting below......while not a scientific response, the heat generated by a tube is not high enough to counteract the cryogenic process. 800F, perhaps.
