I havent visited for a long time, the forum still makes good reading!
A quick question: does anyone make a decent GZ34 or similar IDH rectifier? I've had a couple of russian made examples and a JJ and they all made better flashbulbs than rectifiers. I ask because I'd rather wear out a few new '34s than one of my precious used but good Mullards. GZ37 5U4 etc has too large volts drop and gives me a looser sound and I'm not keen on sand rects.
My amp has choke input PSU, 425-0-425 vac transformer 10H choke, current draw about 180 ma, final B+ 350 vdc ish. I dont have the space etc to fit damper diodes
